A virtual pitch competition that will feature early-stage startup founders pitching their businesses before our panel of esteemed investor judges. Every pitch will be followed by a round of questions to the presenting founder from the judges.
At the end of the event, the judges will pick a winner from among the presenting startups. The winning startup will receive $10,000 in in-kind services. With prominent early-stage angel investors, VCs, and Family Offices in attendance, this event is a fantastic opportunity for the participating startups.
Chelsea Burns is Founder of Escaladora Ventures, a company that invests in the booming rock climbing sector. Currently she is part owner of Pura Roca, an indoor climbing gym in San Pedro, Costa Rica. In addition to climbing, Chelsea’s main passion focuses on natural resource management. She has a decade of experience working in the water and energy efficiency space. Previously she was the COO of Urban Energy Group, an ESCO that finances and installs LED lighting projects across Washington State. Chelsea holds dual BAs in International Relations and Anthropology and dual MAs in International Relations and Natural Resources & Sustainable Development. She lives in Seattle with her husband and dog, Rusty.
Tom Wells has more than 25 years of operational experience leading senior management teams to maximize the execution of goals and to build shareholder value. Prior to 2013, Mr. Wells owned and operated Wells Manufacturing Company, the only producer of continuous cast iron in North America and the largest in the world. He sold the company in December 2012 and is now CEO of WMC Holdings, his family office formed to manage investments with particular focus on private equity and venture capital. Mr. Wells earned his MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and his Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana.
