KiwiTech believes that real innovation is always inclusive. We launched Minority Founder Demo Days to help facilitate funding for minority entrepreneurs and encourage an inclusive mindset in our startups and partners, with the hopes of creating a ripple effect of awareness around the success of minority and women-led businesses. Join us and network with our tribe of entrepreneurs, angel investors, VCs, partners and friends who believe it's a high time to revitalize and support minority-founded tech startup community.
It starts with a shift in perspective. Unconscious bias in alive and well in this industry and we have to stop using the word “risk” when it comes to hiring women and people of color. It is not a ‘risk’ to hire underrepresented talent, it is a proven benefit and we should view it as such. Tech is a powerful giant that’s integral to our everyday economy--it is used by and affects everyone no matter the gender, color, or background so we have to make it a priority to create a workforce that reflects the demographic that it serves. We won’t make true progress with ideas and points of view from the same kind of people. There’s power in differences. The world of tech is evolving and we must evolve with it.
People of color, particularly women of color, are starting businesses faster than anyone in the nation. We must do everything to support our future.
I believe that it is at the StartUp level of a company that true "culture" begins so it is essential to have both diversity and inclusion from the onset. As one says, changing stripes is very hard to do.
Diversity Inclusion within the startup ecosystem is an essential part of any competitive high growth company.
I am proud that our team at Working Solutions reflects our commitment to diversity and inclusion and that together we are democratizing finance in the start-up and early-stage space.
